Knowing how to work with typography on digital projects is crucial to achieving satisfactory results. Unfortunately, a sizable number of designers, especially those starting out in the industry, lack the proper knowledge, which translates into quality projects.
Using my experience in both traditional and digital design, I decided to create a platform that provides the necessary typographic knowledge to start designing websites or other digital content.
The Uncode the Type project aims to bridge the educational gap and help young designers create quality designs. It also has the potential for further development in terms of both knowledge and educational application.

The biggest challenge was filtering the available knowledge, enriching it with information that is missing and creating a proper database of information that is actually necessary. The number of articles is overwhelming, leaving young designers unsure of what is the biggest priority - my goal was to eliminate this problem.
All the assumptions for the graphic design were the result of performing an appropriate analysis of the area of design for the Internet, the availability of educational materials, the conclusions of which made it possible to define a clear purpose of the project and to select its appropriate form.
One of them is the availability of educational materials, which focuses only on typography for the Internet, is very small. Most of the available sources offer a very truncated collection of single issues or focus on book typography, thus omitting many important aspects that are specific to digital forms. It's also hard to find information that directly demonstrates the differences of setting different kinds of parameters on both levels. As a result of my own observations of the junior design community, the little knowledge of the principles of web typography was particularly noticeable.
After the analysis was done, the design process began. The first step to its implementation was to perform adequate research and decide on a style that would be modern, but at the same time quite simple and minimalist, due to the fact that the site is educational in nature. Equally important was the creation of a persona that represented the project's target group, namely young designers.
Then the information architecture was prepared, as well as the structure of the various subpages, which makes it easier to decide how to assign selected information to specific categories. This made it possible to prepare the basis of the website, which will make it functional and intuitive. As a result, the entire process of designing the site is carried out in a structured and organized manner. The next step was to decide on a color palette, visual direction, and fonts proceeding to design and create a prototype.
